The Fundamentals – Session 7
Join us for Session 7 of the Fundamentals.
In session 7, we explore acceptance. Building on awareness, the next logical step in our Mindfulness training is the acceptance of what comes up in our lives. This includes all ups, downs, neutralities. Peace and happiness are what we really want. Are we okay with just going through the motions? Don’t we want to find ways to deal with all the unsatisfying parts of life and cling to the satisfying? We can distract ourselves at length, but, at the end of the day, we always come back to ourselves and how we were living before the distraction. We end up wanting a better way to see the world. We want to live more meaningfully. We are human and it’s all part of life. Accepting things as they require training our mind and body to just let it be. To realize the hard times are as much of a gift as the best of times is part of the fundamentals of mindfulness.
Stephanie is a happy Mother to two amazing girls. She has been an enthusiastic learner about Eastern Philosophy and Religions for over 30 years. Her training is in Physical Therapy with a passion for high-level functioning in our environment. Among her fondest childhood memories, playing outside in nature and exploring standout most. She was fortunate to have been an early traveler with her family since her Dad was a pilot, which has made her always curious about meeting different people and their cultures. She is always striving to be mindful in any way and loves starting her day with Buddhist practice, meditation, yoga, and functional training.
